Green Engineering aims to provide customers with reliable, innovative, and cost effective services in order to make their homes more environmentally friendly and structurally effective. It is our mission to help property owners simplify their house construction or renovation process while improving building longevity.
We are based in Istria and covering all of Istria and the Rijeka region. Due to our international team, we offer seamless communication in Croatian, English and German.

Green Engineering currently offers the following services:
building supervision, consultation on technical and sustainability aspects of your building, optimization of existing projects as well as project organizing & leading, pre-purchase surveys and thermal imaging. All in order to help our customers realize their construction project as seamlessly and painlessly as possible.

MEET OUR TEAM

As the founder of Green Engineering Karlo Šimić has over 10 years of experience in the construction sector. He is a chartered engineer and member of the Croatian Chamber of Civil Engineers. After graduating from the Faculty of Civil Engineering at the University of Rijeka in 2012, he started his career in a design office in Rijeka. In order to improve his professional knowledge, Karlo later did his doctoral studies at the University of Galway in the Republic of Ireland. There, he was part of the Timber Engineering Research Group at the Faculty of Civil Engineering. Upon his return to Croatia, Karlo worked as a project leader assistant and site engineer for the main contractor on the Hilton Costabella Hotel project in Rijeka. Following, he was associate of the chief supervising engineer on the extensive Petram Resort construction project in Savudrija, Istria. 
With the experience gained during 10 years spent as a contractor and supervisor on large scale construction sites as well as a designer and researcher, Karlo Šimić founded the company Green Engineering in early 2023. The offered services combine all his previous expert knowledge to help citizens realize their building ideas.

Sophie Bezela

Mechanical Engineer M.Sc.

Sophie Bezela is a Mechanical Engineer and works as project manager with experience in construction site supervision for Green Engineering.

After graduating from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at RWTH Aachen University in Germany in 2017, Sophie continued at the Institute of Cardiovascular Engineering as a doctoral candidate. Her studies included a research stay at the Faculty of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Galway in the Republic of Ireland. In addition to her scientific work in the field of Medical Engineering, Sophie focused on furthering her skills in project management and leading as well as team leading.
In 2019 Sophie moved to Croatia where she first concentrated on improving her knowledge of the Croatian language. In the following years she gained increasing insight into the field of Civil Engineering and experience in construction side supervision.
